Welcome to my Blog!

Welcome to my blog. If you've come from a link in my website, then you already know who I am, but in case you don't know me, my name is Clive Blair.

I'm a wedding photographer based in the West Midlands, UK, although I do travel extensivley, covering weddings nationally and abroad. I've been photographing weddings since 1987 - I know, I don't look old enough, do I?

You'll find here all my latest news, reviews, highlights and info for my business.

Why Do You Dance Like You Do?

I seem to be coming across all manner of material on the first dance of late. Last time it was the first dance video, now I was reading an article that humorously discussed why certain people dance the way they do at wedding receptions and how to identify certain “dance species”. I’ve copied the article for you to enjoy below. Be warned though that it’s quite long, so perhaps read it in short but frequent doses:... Click to see more

Enjoy Your First Dance!

There was a news item on the TV last night about a couple who had won a competition to learn how to dance properly for their first dance at the wedding reception. The news item showed several clips from different first dance videos that are floating around the internet at the moment. One clip was shown that I remembered seeing a while back that made me chuckle. Thought I’d share it here for you too. Just remember to enjoy your first dance like these two did:... Click to see more

Laura and Jem weren’t going to bother to have a photographer for their wedding when their original choice cancelled their booking due to a family bereavement. But Laura’s friends decided to surprise her by booking me to photograph their wedding. I was rang 6 days before the wedding! The wedding was in Tamworth, with the reception at The Belfry.... Sample Albums

I mentioned here that I was preparing a sample album for Studley Castle and that it’d be soon available for viewing. Just a quick note to say that it’s been now delivered to Katie. I also mentioned that you’d have to visit Studley Castle to see that album, but I thought: “Why make it harder for you, why not post an online version of the real thing?”... Click to see more

Latest Scam Alert

I’m not usually one for  posting warnings about potential scams but I had a close call yesterday.
I walked into a B & Q store at lunchtime and some old guy dressed in a black  shirt with an orange apron on asked me if I wanted decking. Fortunately, I got  the first punch in and sorted him out.
Those less suspecting might not  be so fortunate!! Pass this warning on…. ;-)

Clive’s Five (12th July 2008: Charlotte and David)

Charlotte and David were married at St Marys and St Margarets and held their reception at Moor Hall. It was a bit like deja vu coming back to Moor Hall so soon as I was only there 15 days earlier, but I didn’t want to just take the same photos as before so I aimed to capture something different to reflect each couples personality and wedding....
