A debate has been going on for many years between wedding photographers and registrars over whether we are allowed to photograph, what for many is one of the most important parts of the day, the wedding ceremony.  While the law has a few guidelines, the final say is often down to the officiants of the ceremony and their interpretation of the law and sad to say in the majority of cases photography is not being allowed, thus depriving couples of an important record of the day. Sophie and Steve wedding and reception at Ansty Hall. The day started off cloudy with the usual showers. But surprisingly when it came time for the photos outside the weather held up and drinks and canapes were able to be served on the lawn, while I wandered around taking a few informal, natural photographs of the happy couple and their guests. As soon as all the photography had been finished and they went inside for the reception the heavens opened up and it poured and poured! But we didn’t care as we were inside and had no need to go out again. But it was close shave!!... Click to see more

What a gloriously sunny day for Jo and Ben wedding at Ratcliffe College and reception at Quorn Country Hotel! Julie and Stuart both live in Kuwait and come over to hold their their wedding and ceremony at The Hotel du Vin, Birmingham. I had a hard time choosing just 5 images for this post as I again had a second shooter with me (Sarah Brooks) who produced some cracking edgy, urban shots which beautifully blended in and added to the the look Julie and Stuart wanted, but also the Hotel has so many stunning areas and this post would not allow me to show them all.
